careless or foolish or thinking something else. but whatever, it was not done the way we are doing it. we are emphasized enforcement. they were not thinking through the issues. just take these two issues that concerned the president in the last week, the doit filtered milk and lumber. if we had a well functioning trade agreement, why would they have to come to a collision course and result? the whole idea of a trade agreement it to make things go smoothly. >> lou: create a memism and resolution. creating balance in the trade relationship and something we haven't seen in this country over 40 year and that is encouraging to those of us who pay attention to trade and know how important it is it.

i am wondering, are you tonight ideas about for example, reports on the impact of trade deficit on economic growth and on reports of the impact actually, the numerical reports of employees involved in outsourcing and we all better understand what is happening to the economy as a result is of the woeful trade practices that are pursued too long in this country? >> it is huge. as the president is fond of citing, 70000 manufacturing plants have closed in the u.s. since nafta was originateded. they not all were due to nafta. but some was. and some due to other things. can you imagine 70000 plants being gone. and figure out how many people per plant you are talking about a heck of a lot of jobs.

this will not continue to be accepted and there will be consequence and they are something that mr. trump has been quiet about the specifics of. and clearly the demonstrateded moving of force and minuteman three clearly shows that we will use military force if necessary. and that message has to be clear to the north korean leadership. >> lou: we have a minute. now the thad missile is deployed in south korea and the ages defense system on the seas. this is an extraordinary. and we are getting to an extraordinary amount of surface to air and surface to missile firepower that could be successfully protective of seoul and all of south korea. >> and japan and the united states, too.
