sec. adeyemo: a shell company is a company with no assets or no known purpose. the biden had 20 shell companies. the bidens and their associates had china and russia and democrat donors.

joe biden received a $40,000 check from that transaction. that's evidence that joe biden received $40,000 directly from the chinese communist party linked entity. this is public corruption 101. the american people see the corruption, but unfortunately many in the corporate media and democrats seek to cover up for the bidens. why is that? the american people aren't buying what the democrats and corporate media are selling. we will continue to follow the facts and hold the bidens accountable for their corruption. i'll be happy to answer a few questions if anyone has any. >> yesterday you put out a statement said this is not over. you will continue to interview witnesses. at which point typically during an investigation the biggest person, fish, whatever it be, the end of the investigation, at which point of this investigation done, when do you think the committee to refer out the articles on the floor. will you tell people when it's complete? mr. comer: obviously we had a lot of interviews and

depositions over the last six weeks. but with each interview we learn more information. we find more potential evidence that needs to be obtained. more hits. more accusations that need to be investigated. as long as we keep getting new information in we'll continue to pursue. i'm ready to try to begin to close this investigation. this has been a very difficult investigation. this administration has been very obstructive. they haven't been cooperative. i feel like we are having to battle the department of justice and the f.b.i. on a daily basis to get basic information. many of our witnesses that we brought in would be what i would consider hostile witnesses. but at the end of the day i think with every interview we have learned new information. and the basis of what we have learned is that the bidens didn't have a legitimate business. their business was selling access to joe biden. the brand. what we learned is a little bit

about the business model from three different associates that said that joe biden communicated with the people right before the closing, so he was the closer of the influenced peddling scheme. and that in at least two cases, one cesc, one that hunter biden was leading, one of the influence peddling teams, and one with jim biden, the americorps deal that "politico" did a good job writing about. both times in their scheme, in their pitch to obtain money, they said joe biden was interested in an equity ownership stake and that joe biden might even, if the price was right, be on the board of these two entities. that's what we have learned through these depositions and interviews. >> you said the bidens. that includes president biden.

what evidence do you have directly linking president biden beyond a dinner, a letter, a coffee, on speaker phone. you keep saying the bidens. you talking about president biden specifically. what evidence do you have that he profited off his son? mr. comer: we have two checks. i don't cite "politico" very often. they ran a good story for some reason they didn't put on their morning link. it was about the americorps help. $200,000 payment joe biden received from an influenced peddling scheme. he received two payments. we found this through subpoenaed bank reports. two payments. the first payment was $200,000 from americorps health. there is no question that money came directly from influence peddling. we have traced the money. frankly it wasn't hard. the second was the $40,000 payment i just referenced in my opening statement. $40,000 that came directly from hunter biden, the hunter biden

shakedown where he said his father is sitting beside him. the steps are called money laundering. that's what the steps are called. >> to the president of the united states. he's connected to the president of the united states. it appears when you say bidens -- mr. comer: the reason they sent -- didn't send the money directly to joe biden, they sent it to the shell companies. that's where there are 170 suspicious activity reports from six different banks that alerted the treasury department that they feared their client, hunter biden, was money laundering. this is a very serious crime. the number of financial crimes that this family has been investigated for and no resolution to any investigation, every investigation was called off. think about this -- the bidens have been investigated by the f.b.i. they have been investigated by three different u.s. attorney offices. they have been investigated by the i.r.s.

they have been investigated by the securities and exchange commission. the list goes on and on and on. yet every time we were told what was said, they were told to stand down. there are two parts to this investigation. there is the actual biden crimes. and then there is the cover-up. >> what evidence do you have that either the vice president or as president joe biden used his political office in any way to benefit either hunter or james biden? mr. comer: we have evidence that joe biden met -- >> what specific actions -- mr. comer: i already testified >> how does americorps health, how does this chinese business helped -- mr. comer: let me ask you a question. you mentioned americorps health. does anyone in here question whether or not that was influenced peddling? does anyone question that? no. >> i question that. there was no evidence that joe biden -- mr. comer: he got $200,000 from it.

and the evidence that jim biden said -- listen. look, you can defend joe biden all day long. you can defend -- you can be on his legal defense team. kevin morris will probably pay your legal bills if you want >> you're not answering my question. mr. comer: i am. you don't understand what we have said over and ove over. joe biden took $200,000 directly from americorps health. >> he was a private citizen at the time of the $200,000, was he not? mr. comer: the dislrs 40,000. it's ok. doth a problem that joe biden lied about this. reporter: i'm asking what specific actions did you take as an elected public official -- mr. comer: calm down. calm down. it's ok.

all right, listen. $3.5 billion from the russian oligarch. he is not listed on those sanctions and the most important issue according to joe biden in america right now is giving ukraine another blank check. there are issues in ukraine that we are investigating. and issues from the russian oligarch and the money they got from china, there is a china first america last policy. when we issue the report, many of these policy discussions will be debated. one more question. the suspicious reports and around what some of these associates have testified that joe biden communicated frequently with these shady characters. so we have a lot of questions for hunter biden based on financial crimes and he was being investigated by international crimes division and we will try to get those questions in. let me close with this. this is about public corruption. the american people do not want their public officials' families to peddle access to their leaders to the tune of tens of millions of dollars. i can tell you i traveled from connecticut to arizona campaigning for members of congress who are running for election and everywhere i go, thank you for trying to find out

the truth. thank you for trying to stop this cannotage industry of influence peddling. the purpose of this investigation if you go back to the first press conference is to get the truth to the american people. they don't have the truth. when we started the laptop had this information and the bidens had legitimate businesses. and all of that we have proven is false. we have been very effective in getting the truth to the american people and my job as chairman of the oversight committee is to prevent influence peddling from happening in the future. this is to create legislation that stops it from happening. we need to stop the menendez and bidens to continue to enrich themselves in our public
