on the 12th of march , 99 hungary, enjoying the strongest alliance in the world, the dream of many genat came true. there's no better place to celebrate the special anniversary than the white house. courageous decisions were made right here in the capitol of the united states by both democrats d republicans. nato expanded poland joined the free world, the west where it has always belonged to. and for the courageous decisions and their unwavering support i would like to thank all the americans. i stress the thanks to you mr. president bearing in mind at this time you are one of the leaders of the support u.s. senate succession to nato.

i thank you on behalf of millions. >> thank you, mr. president. >> during the 25 years we have shown we are a rel■viable and proven ally. even when our soldiers fought side-by-side with the american soldiers in iraq and like a few other countries in the world security comes at a price. that is a buy we spent with a 4% of our gdp on modernizing our armed forces. this is the highest percentage in the alliance. russia aggression against ukraine clearly demonstrates the united states is and should remain the security leader. other allies take full responsibility for the security of the alliance as a whole. that is why i believe it is necessary for all nato countries to increase their defense spending from two -- 3% of gdp.

2% now 3% is required and the beyond nato's eastern border. we believe in america. we believe poland and europe need more militarily and economically more american spirit in thinking i have had the opportunity to discuss this point with the president for many occasions. also we received it and poland. a year ago when they met in wausau i announced pullman would share our top priority would be to deepen cooperation between the united states. we are working consistently and these. we are buying the most advanced
