hello from the bbc sport centre. it'll be a nerve—shredding night in cardiff as wales take on poland with the winners going to this summer's european championship. both endured difficult regular qualifying campaigns up to the playoffs, but last week wales comfortably dispatched finland 4—1, while poland thrashed estonia. the wales manager had been under intense pressure, but his side has responded well and they now stand on the brink of their third successive euros. it would be a great achievement for us to qualify, and in the manner in which we have done. what ever you go through to a campaign you're always going to get bumps on the route, especially the transition we were in front the summer. what pleases me is

the reaction we have had since then. really, really pleases me how we have done it, so i would be an extremely pragmatic at the job done. but filled focus on getting the job done. translation: ~ ., , done. translation: ., , ., translation: we finalise our anal sis translation: we finalise our analysis of _ translation: we finalise our analysis of the _ translation: we finalise our analysis of the welsh - translation: we finalise our analysis of the welsh team, i translation: we finalise our| analysis of the welsh team, we translation: we finalise our- analysis of the welsh team, we are prepared _ analysis of the welsh team, we are prepared for the game, we know it as a team _ prepared for the game, we know it as a team at_ prepared for the game, we know it as a team at sound good run and counter attacks _ a team at sound good run and counter attacks they— a team at sound good run and counter attacks. they use their wings but we need to— attacks. they use their wings but we need to eliminate loose threads and also use _ need to eliminate loose threads and also use our style and focus on that _ also use our style and focus on that we — also use our style and focus on that. we are hoping right from is that. we are hoping right from is that we _ that. we are hoping right from is that we can — that. we are hoping right from is that we can manage the game physically and mentally and play the game _ physically and mentally and play the game on _ physically and mentally and play the game on our terms. keep our strength mentally— game on our terms. keep our strength mentally and physically and i am confident— mentally and physically and i am confident that we can win the game. against the continuing backdrop of the war against russia, ukraine host iceland in their playoff final eilminator. that game is being played in poland because of what's happening in kyiv. of course in the morning i saw the

players today, there are all on the telephone silently seeing what's happening in ukraine, odesa and kyiv. it is difficult for them because some of the families are there. i'm sure tomorrow they will be more motivated for this game. so, comfirmation of the playoff eliminators for the final three spots at this summers european championship. wales take on poland, ukraine face iceland and in the final match georgia are trying to get to their first major championship, they host greece. there are also a host of friendly internationals taking place later, including england against belgium. england are without a host of experienced players, including captain harry kane, so declan rice will skipper the side. manager gareth southgate sees this as a chance for new players to stake their claim to be in the squad both for the euros and going forward. some of our core group, kieran

trippier, walker, maguire, not with us. so a different feel of the group, a different dynamic, so it is a great opportunity for people to step up, to lead, to grow. that's important because a lot of the players involved with the squad now are the future of the team now for the mid and long term. no more of those experiences they can have, thatis those experiences they can have, that is really helpful for everybody. as the teams finalise their preparations for the summer, the hosts, germany, take on the netherlands later. it mayjust be a friendly, but it's a fixture steeped in history. i think it's still a big game, it's a big game because to neighbouring countries playing against each other, a lot of players who knew each other from their club. it has been a tough game in the past and i think it is a tough game in the present. on to tennis — and andy murray says he'll be out for an extended period
