, skupski skupski is finalist here. neal skupski is through to the final of the men's doubles with his partner wesley koolhof, sophie. time for a look at the weather. well, the wimbledon roof will get good use over the next few days. our weather pattern has been untouched for ages and there is no end in sight to the unsettled conditions. but rather than having shower clouds like these across the skies, we have something wetter and when they are on the way. it is this area of cloud developing to our southwest which is an area of low pressure that will deepen quickly overnight. through friday and saturday, it will bring rain northwards and eastwards across the uk, along with strong winds across parts of england and wales. overnight tonight, a few showers coming and going across scotland. some wet weather for northern ireland and a few splashes of rain for the north west of england and wales. but later in the night, we see some rain pushing into south—west england and southern parts of england. quite a mild night but tomorrow norman, we are looking
6:31 pm
at a zone of strong winds. the first batch could reach 50 miles an hour across parts of wales and south—west england. it is unusually windy for this stage of the year. winds that strong could bring down one or two tree branches and perhaps the odd weak tree. so there is disruption from the strong winds and there will be heavy bursts around as well. temperature is a bit below average for the time of year. into the weekend, the zone of strong winds will push across from wales into southern and eastern areas of england. these winds will be strong enough to cause localised disruption, again bringing down one or two tree branches. saturday, as well as those blustery winds, it's very unsettled. a day of sunny spells and widespread showers with thunderstorms mixed in. one benefit of the strong winds is that any individual shower will not last long. temperatures are still below average and as i mentioned, there is no end in sight to the unsettled run of weather. there are loads of

scotland where we've got single figure temperatures. but let's focus on the southwest. this is where we've probably got the worst of the weather, i think, for friday. as well as the rain, we've got these strong, gusty winds, gusting 50 miles an hour perhaps, and some rough seas. and that rain is going to be with us for much of the day. before it does clear away later, it could turn heavy and thundery. that rain will push further north and eastwards across more of england and wales, up into northern ireland, maybe eventually into the south of scotland. something a bit drier for the north of the country. could be muggy for a while in the southeast, but if anything, those temperatures are likely to be even lower than they were today in the wind and the rain. and it's all due to that area of low pressure deepening as it heads across the uk. it's going to be sitting around into saturday, lots of isobars on the chart, an indication it's going to be unusually windy, really, for this time of the year. and the rain when it comes could be heavy and thundery. of course, it's going to stay on the cool side as well. focus on the winds, though, for saturday, and the strongest winds will be across england and wales. it's in this area that we're more likely to have some impacts

because of the strength of the wind, and the strongest winds could be along some southern coasts and over the hills, but particularly gusty when those showers arrive and it doesn't take long for them to set off. we've got a lot of downpours developing widely across england and wales where it's windy. not quite so windy for scotland and northern ireland, but again, some heavy and thundery rain is possible. all depressing the temperatures, of course. that area of low pressure still with us, then on saturday will continue to just drift northwards, could take the worst of the weather away with it as well. but, if anything, it may be a windier day for scotland to northern ireland, perhaps the north of england, not quite so windy on sunday further south. and there may well be some sunshine around, but still some heavy thundery showers, wetter weather in the north and the top temperatures 20—21 celsius.
