nearly a third of a month worth of rain so it has been pretty wet and a festival rained off in west scotland. you can see a lot of cloud across the north—west, that is where the front bringing rain but it is pulling out of the way to the north—west and the sunnier skies in england and wales are starting to emerge northwards. brightening up for scotland and northern ireland. a few showers around, most of them probably not very heavy but it stays dry for england and wales with those sunny sties continuing. it becomes very hot indeed for some. temperatures could hit around 31. the hotspots probe are in south—east england but the heat pretty widespread today. mid to high 20s for many of us. overnight tonight we keep clear skies, tonight where it will start to turn increasingly humid as the night goes by, temperatures were northern ireland and england and wales not following very far. 18—20. scotland is a bit more comfortable, 13—16. the weekend has a sunshine and showers, the shower starting up on saturday across western areas. they will leap

north—eastwards into northern england and scotland where they could become really torrential. we talk about potential of many 50 millimetres of rain in the space of just a few hours, that is enough to cause localised flash flooding. it will go on for a month of rain, so that could cause big problems for one or two areas. the rain will be variable. some places will miss is once altogether. still hot across eastern england. temperatures rising from northern scotland where we could see highs of 27. wimbledon there is a chance of seeing a passing shower at some point tomorrow. through saturday night time, some pretty big storms for northern england and scotland. we will have to watch out with those. most of them will tend to clear out of the way but on sunday we might see a few storms coming in from france equipping eastern england, watch out for those, but otherwise most of the showers will move in from the south—west of the day goes by, some of them quite heavy. between the showers there will still be some sunshine and overall a fresherfeel be some sunshine and overall a fresher feel to the weather. temperatures into the low to mid 20s pretty widely. still warm in the
